Freedom Park Fall Cleanup October 26: two shifts- 9-11 &1:30-3:30

Put away the gardens for winter at Freedom Park, at the foot of Ferry

Come help to pull the last of the weeds and leaves and make the park look good for its winter season. BBB

17th Annual Family Fishing Day June 29 and 30 from 10am – 3pm

Buffalo United Front is hosting this event at the newly renamed Freedom Park, at the foot of Ferry

This free event offers a day of fishing, picnicking and games, bringing together families from across the region. BBB

 

Summer Barnyard Bash June 13th 5:30- 6:30 at 161 Vermont St.

West Side Community Services is hosting an end of school year/ beginning of summer kick off free event for families

We’ll have:
   🐄 Petting zoo with a baby calf and other farm animals
  • 🪄  Magic show and dance showcase performed by our after-school program kids
    🎨 Face painting
     🍕 Food and drinks
    🌞 Assistance with registering for our summer day camp and applying for financial aid (if needed)
    😀 Some more fun to be announced later!

 

Buffalo Sewer Authority Tour May 31 at 9am

Super unique opportunity to tour the Sewer Authority Plant on Unity Island

Take a peek into what happens when “stuff” goes down the drain. These folks will explain how sewage is treated and their plans for a major upcoming update to the facility. Tours spots are limited, so sign up now.

West Side Art Bash May 17 6-8pm

All ages community art event

This West Side Community Services  event is sponsored and co-hosted by Rich Products : a creative hands-on art event, including music and dance. This event is free, but you must pre-register.  So many cool collaborators; you don’t want to miss this.

 

2nd Annual Mother’s Day Market Sunday May 12, 11am-3pm

Wildroot Floral is hosting 60+ vendors providing goods, services, food/drink, and experiences, including flower arranging classes.

This event will be held in the parking lot(s) adjacent to the 1250 Niagara building.

Freshen Up Freedom Park April 27 10am

Clean up our newly renamed Freedom Park, previously Broderick Park

Mulch, provided by Rich’s, and weed to celebrate spring! Come out to where the views are awesome and history abounds. Gloves and equipment will be provided.

West Side Chops April 25, 6-8pm

This fundraiser will pit 3 corporate chefs against 3 non-profit chefs in a cooking contest, using ingredients commonly found in West Side Community Services Provisions 139 Food Pantry

The event will be held at the new West Side Bazaar location, 1432 Niagara Street, Buffalo, NY 14213. Tickets will be available in early March on their website.

WEDIfest April 19 starting at 6:30pm

Support WEDI programs, including the West Side Bazaar and the Downtown Bazaar

Food, bar, live music and auctions.

The event will be held at the Niagara West Side Bazaar location, 1432 Niagara Street, Buffalo, NY 14213. Limited tickets are available on their website.

 

Niagara Street Adopt-A-Block Collaborative March 30 from 10am – Noon

A collaboration of folks, including the East Side Bike Club, Rich’s Products, Black Rock Riverside Alliance and Campus Wheelworks are joining together to clean up the UpperRock Niagara area

Come help clean up! Three meet up spots will focus on different parts of the Upper Rock area: Meet at Rich’s Products to help from Busti to Breckenridge; meet at Campus Wheelworks to help from Breckenridge to Amherst; meet at Black Rock Riverside Alliance to help from Amherst to Hertel. Mint Mohito Bar, Free Street Tavern, Turning Bridge Inn and West Side Bazaar are offering lunch discounts for volunteers, starting at noon!

Garbage bags and gloves will be provided, but bring a garbage picker, broom and dustpan, if you have one.

Special Underground Railroad Museum hours every Saturday in February  from 10am-12pm

Celebrate Black History Month with a free tour and discussion at the park, located at the Niagara River end of Ferry St., the last stop for escaping slaves before passing into Canada.

Restore Humbolt Parkway Friday February 9th 4-6pm

Join us for the first ever Mother’s Day Market on Niagara Street!  Bring your family and friends to shop 30+ vendors at our outdoor market (happening rain or shine), and stay a while browsing the fantastic restaurants and businesses of the Niagara Corridor.

Featuring a Build-Your-Own-Bouquet Bus, hair braiding, on-site custom chain stitching, permanent jewelry, tarot reading, a plant portrait photobooth, and so much more.

We are gathering at the historic Broderick Park in preparation for summer… join us as we spread mulch, pull weeds and tidy up!

November 26th – Shop Small Saturday

Visit Vision Niagara at our pop-up location – 1270 Niagara Street. We’ll have refreshments and a passport with map as a guide to our participating businesses and organizations.

For each business you visit, you’ll be given a stamp on your passport. Once you visit five of the small businesses and get stamped, there are two ways to submit your passport to win a chance at the prize. 

Bring your completed passport back to our pop-up by 4 p.m. OR

Take a photo of yourself with the completed passport, post it to your Instagram and tag @visionniagara by 4 p.m.

We’ll do the drawing right at 4 p.m. and notify the winner immediately.
